Q: What is Leia’s Kids?

A: Leia’s Kids is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) foundation, established in 2017 by Leia Therese Hunt.  Leia is a two-time childhood cancer survivor that is passionate about inspiring hope and supporting other children battling childhood cancer.

Q: Why is Leia’s kids needed?

A: When a child is diagnosed with cancer their childhood days quickly change to be filled with chemotherapy and endless doctor and hospital visits. Life not only changes for the child diagnosed with cancer but for the entire family. Doctors and Nurses work hard to cure the cancer but families need more than just medical help to get through this stressful and fearful time in their lives. This is where Leia’s Kids steps in to fill this void.

Q: What is “Crown a Kid”?

A: Cancer not only physically impacts the child but often results in a substantial financial burden to the child’s family.  These costs include medical expenses, transportation expenses, and care giver lost wages.  Leia’s Kids provides direct financial assistance to children and their families that are battling childhood cancer by crowning a Kid.  In addition to providing a check to the family, a crown a kid donation can include gift cards, theme park tickets or other identified specific unmet needs.

Q: Are my donations tax-deductible?

A: Yes. As a non-profit, 501(c)(3), tax-exempt corporation, Leia’s Kids receives no governmental or state funding. Contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.  In addition to monetary donations, you are invited to donate gift cards.

Q: Can Leia speak to my group?

A: Absolutely, Leia is passionate about spreading her message of faith and hope and looks forward to speaking to your group, corporation or conference.  To request Leia to speak to your group simply send an email to [email protected] and detail your request.
